first_imgPaintballers love bringing historic battles back to life, with plenty of fun instead of casualties and bruises instead of war wounds. It all goes down at ‘The Arena’ on the N11, with meticulous care going into how the modern-day battles are re-enacted.The guns look a bit different and goggles protect the eyes, as the players enter the fray and attempt to decimate the enemy (opposing team). The most recent match was the ‘Battle of the Alamo’.A strong wind whipped around the grounds as one team was garrisoned inside, while the other team had to attack them (like in the real battle, which was fought from February 23 until March 6, 1836, between the Mexican and American armies). Paintballers ducked and dived to avoid being hit by the stinging, coloured paint. If you get hit, you’re out of the game!It goes without saying that it was an enjoyable morning for all the players. Win or lose, everyone lives to fight another day.Another paintball match is set to take place soon. For more information about this fun game, you can contact Ryan Bouwer on 073-667-9924.
